About the Coach In the early 90’s, I was a nervous MBA grad in my first real “professional” job. The work I was doing was hard enough. I wasn’t looking for much in the way of career growth. Leadership? No way. I was terrified just to speak in front of the 50 people I knew well in my MBA core group.
But my first mentor came crashing right through my fear and doubt. He remade my understanding of leadership. Of what I could contribute to my company. He challenged my understanding of myself.
Since then, I’ve had many chances for professional achievement: I led a ground-breaking project at a Fortune 500 company that changed the way that company sells and markets its products. I did that without a single person who formally “reported” to me. Several hundred people now have rewarding jobs in that company because of my work.
I became a senior people-manager at another Fortune 500 company. We increased our revenues 5X and grew our profit margins 3X in less than three years. Most of the members of my team went on to their own management opportunities in that company or elsewhere.
After that, I became the CEO of a growth company. I learned how to build excellence from the ground up, and how to build and trust a leadership team.
To pay back the investment my first mentor made in me, I’ve become a full-time career coach and mentor.
I work exclusively with high-potential leaders who have the guts to make a difference. My commitment to leaders in faith-based organizations.
My coaching practice always has room for at least one pro-bono client who works for a church, synagogue, or other faith-based organization. Contact me to apply for pro-bono career coaching.
It’s your career. Who’s managing it?
